Compared with conventional natural gas, shale gas development has the advantages of long mining life and long production cycle. Most gas shale has a wide range, large thickness and generally contains gas, which makes shale gas well produce gas at a stable rate for a long time.

The main component of shale gas is alkane, of which methane accounts for the vast majority, with a small amount of ethane, propane and butane, which generally contains hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water, and trace amounts of inert gases such as helium and argon. In addition, many oil shale byproducts can also be obtained in the refining process, and the gas discharged can be used as gas fuel as gas. Shale gas mining technology, mainly including horizontal well technology and multi-layer fracturing technology, clear water fracturing technology, repeated fracturing technology and the latest synchronous fracturing technology, which are constantly increasing the production of shale gas wells.

On November 5,2012, the Ministry of Finance and the State Energy Administration issued the Notice on Shale Gas Development and Utilization Subsidy Policy, saying that the central finance subsidized shale gas mining enterprises from 2012 to 2015, the subsidy funds will be determined by the shale gas development and utilization volume and subsidy standard, 2012 to 2015 is 0.4 yuan / cubic meter, the specific standard will be adjusted according to the development of shale gas industry. In addition, the Ministry of Finance also stipulates that local finance can give appropriate subsidies according to local conditions, and the specific standards and subsidies will be determined by local governments.
